Doll Barnes Paper Sculpture Has Identified Syndrome
And Will Showcase The Cure At Surtex 2007

NEW YORK, NY (May 2007)—Tired? Eyes glazed over? Yawning incessantly? Doll Barnes Paper Sculpture has identified these symptoms as part of "Design Fatigue Syndrome".

The cause?—viewing the same old designs over and over again.

The cure?—Doll Barnes Paper Sculpture. They bring design to a whole new dimension—literally—with their bas-relief paper sculpture designs.

What is bas-relief paper sculpture? It is shaping and layering paper to give it a unique dimensional look. Designs are then digitally photographed and prepared on the computer for easy product application and production.

What type of products would these designs be appropriate for? Greeting cards and paper products, wallpaper borders and children's bedding, giftware, housewares and fabric to name a few.

Why not just create the designs on the computer? "With developments in computer illustration you can come close to simulating paper sculpture but there's nothing like the real thing. It has a look that cannot effectively be duplicated on the computer," said Barnes, owner of Doll Barnes Paper Sculpture.

It's this look that has drawn people to their booth at Surtex. "People can't quite believe that the pieces are not actually dimensional. It's only after they run their finger along the flat surface of the design that they are convinced that the piece is in fact, flat," continued Barnes, "this gives the work a built in 'wow' factor."

And talking about 'wow', there will be a special appearance of "Sandcastle Beach Duck" at Surtex this year. He's a bit of a television celebrity having been filmed by HGTV as he was being created for an upcoming episode of "That's Clever!" In the meantime he can be seen on the website www.dollbarnes.com.

So if you're looking for something different to enhance your product line, something to cure Design Fatigue Syndrome, stop by their booth #2011, Hall 1E at Surtex, Jacob Javits Convention Center, New York, NY from May 20 - 22 or contact them at 203.265.2231. Operators are standing by.
