what is paper sculpture? is it like Origami?

This is the first question I'm asked when people hear I'm a paper sculptor. I then go on to explain that paper sculpture is it's own art form. It is created by shaping and/or folding paper and attaching it to a background. Foam core spacers are used to give the pieces added dimension. Quite often, they are still puzzled until I show them a picture of a piece since it's so much easier to show than to explain. That's when the second most asked question comes up....

how long does it take you to make a paper sculpture?

That depends on the piece, not necessarily because of complexity, but because some pieces want to be made and some are reluctant to "be born". Generally, 8 hours is the minimum amount of time and days and days covers the reluctant ones. When people hear this they conclude two things: one, that I must be very patient (which I'm not - just ask my husband or children) and two "You're crazy!" - which pretty much describes anyone trying to make a living as an artist.

will the cards be an actual paper sculpture?

No. The original sculpture pieces are digitally photographed and then prepared on the computer for printing as cards.

can I fax my order or pay by check?

At this time we can only accept online credit card orders for retail customers. All credit card orders are processed through PayPal.

when will my order be shipped?

All items in stock are shipped within 48 hours, excluding weekends and postal holidays. If there is ever a delay in shipping we will notify you via email. All orders are shipped via USPS.

do you ship internationally?

At this time we can only ship orders within the United States.
